Two rules follow. First, only grade A can create a date. Second, grade E is not logged at all. During the August 2026 leak cycle a large volume of material circulated; our editorial line is that leaked builds and files are not a source we use, and no leak has ever established a release date. Grade B and C entries are what actually generate the scenario table. They are useful precisely because they are uncertain, and the tracker labels them as such.

Why the date field stays empty
The tracker's date field is empty because the state of the world is "confirmed, no date". Rockstar ships consoles first as a deliberate platform strategy: one hardware target gets the final polish pass, and the PC version is scaled up afterwards with platform-specific features. The studio's silence is not a missing announcement — it is the normal shape of the schedule. Filling the field with a guess would convert a factual page into a speculation page and destroy the one thing it is for.
That is also why the tracker never displays a countdown to an unannounced PC release: a countdown implies an authoritative target time.
Where the pattern points
Two precedents bound the realistic range, and one official hint sits outside both.

How the tracker handles a new statement
When a new grade-A or grade-B item appears, the tracker runs the same four-step revision:
- Anchor it. Record the date, venue and exact wording.
- Grade it. A, B, C or D — and note if it is media-attributed rather than direct.
- Test it against the scenarios. Does it narrow the range, or is it consistent with all three?
- Update the status line only on grade A. A grade-B hint changes scenario confidence, never the status.
This discipline keeps "confirmed, no date" stable. A single executive aside does not flip the tracker into claiming a window, and a media story derived from that aside does not either.
Reading the tracker without being misled
- Check the grade before the claim. Any entry that changes your expectation should have an A or B next to it.
- Separate statement from interpretation. "Take-Two's president signalled" is interpretation. "Coming November 19, 2026" is a statement.
- Distrust round numbers. A PC date that first appears as a nice round month and then propagates is almost always derived, not announced.
- Watch the venues, not the headlines. Newswire, the official site and Take-Two's investor materials are where a real date will first exist.
