- 2026-08-23: a manifesto threatened a "playable build" within days — with crypto promotion and fake downloads distributed malware.
- Take-Two sent subpoenas to platform providers; consumer groups publicly warned players.
How to stay safe
- Never download leaked or "playable" builds — overwhelmingly fake, often malware.
- Buy only from official platform stores (see where to pre-order).
