GTA 6 Release Calendar: Every Key Date to Launch Day

✦ Last updated August 30, 2026

The one date that matters is November 19, 2026. GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S that day, and everything else on this calendar is either confirmed supporting logistics (preload, bonus deadlines, earnings calls) or an expected window that is not yet backed by an official announcement. We mark the difference explicitly.

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Confirmed dates are bold. Expected windows are italicised and labelled as expected. If a date on this page is not bold, do not plan around it as fact.

The calendar

Date Event Status
September 17, 2026 Take-Two Annual Meeting of Stockholders Confirmed
September-October 2026 Trailer 3 window (official answer so far: "wait") Expected
Early November 2026 Q2 FY2027 earnings call Expected
November 12, 2026 Preload begins on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Confirmed
November 19, 2026 GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Confirmed
November 20, 2026 Last day for the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus Confirmed
December 2026 The Game Awards — possible PC announcement Expected
February 2027 Q3 FY2027 earnings — strongest PC announcement window Expected

The release calendar tool renders this as a live view and updates whenever an official announcement changes a row.

The dates that are actually confirmed

Four rows above are confirmed, and only one of them is about the game itself.

November 19, 2026 — launch. Announced on November 7, 2025, and re-confirmed on three Take-Two earnings calls since, most recently on August 7, 2026. The full confirmation history is on our GTA 6 release date page.

November 12, 2026 — preload. One week before launch, when the download becomes available on both consoles. Because the physical edition is a box containing a download code rather than a disc, preload affects boxed buyers too — worth knowing if your connection is slow.

November 20, 2026 — pre-order bonus deadline. The Vintage Vice City Pack is available with pre-orders, and November 20 is the last day to qualify. Note that this is the day after launch.

September 17, 2026 — Take-Two Annual Meeting of Stockholders. A shareholder meeting rather than a game event, but historically a venue where platform and portfolio questions get asked directly by investors. It is here because it sits before launch and can surface statements that never reach Newswire.

The dates that are only expected

Three rows are expectations. Each has a different basis, and confusing them is the most common mistake people make with calendars like this.

Trailer 3, September-October 2026. No third standalone trailer has been released. As of September 10, 2026, Rockstar's official response to Trailer 3 questions was reported as simply "wait" (media-attributed, 2026-07-27). Several outlets have described Netflix's August 27, 2026 "An Extended Look" as the third and final trailer — that is a framing choice by those outlets, not a separate release. Our Trailer 3 status page tracks the distinction.

Q2 FY2027 earnings call, early November 2026. The first Take-Two call after the console launch. Investors will want launch-week numbers and, likely, any platform commentary. An exact call date is not on this calendar because Take-Two has not published one.

The Game Awards, December 2026. A high-attention stage that falls about a month after launch. Rockstar has used major shows for reveals before, which is why it appears here — but no official statement links GTA 6 to the 2026 show.

Q3 FY2027 earnings, February 2027. The single strongest PC announcement window on this calendar, because it aligns exactly with the window Take-Two's president signalled (before the end of fiscal Q4, i.e. before March 2027). It is still a hint, not a commitment.

"every entertainment product needs pre-launch marketing" — Take-Two commentary reported from the Q1 FY2027 earnings call (source: media reports of the call, 2026-08-07). We treat this as a media-attributed statement.

How to use this calendar

The calendar exists to answer one practical question: what should I actually do, and when?

If you want to... Act by Why
Get the pre-order bonus November 20, 2026 Vintage Vice City Pack deadline is the day after launch
Play at midnight on day one November 12, 2026 Preload opens; download before launch day
Buy the cheapest legitimate copy Any time List prices are fixed at $79.99/€79.99 and $99.99/€99.99
Decide console vs waiting for PC Watch December 2026 and February 2027 Those are the two credible PC announcement windows
Catch a possible new trailer Watch Newswire, not rumour accounts Any trailer lands on official channels first

Two rules prevent most mistakes. Treat unbolded rows as scheduling information, not as commitments. And check the status column before you change a plan — a window that is "expected" for September-October 2026 can quietly become "not happening" without the date changing.

What is missing from this calendar

Honest calendars list their gaps. These are things people ask about that have no date at all:

  • PC release date. Confirmed platform, no date. Tracked on our PC release tracker.
  • Regional unlock times on November 19. Rockstar has not published them; our launch times page tracks the expected windows.
  • Review embargo. No date published.
  • A 60fps mode. Not announced, so not scheduled.
  • Any further delay. No indication of one, and Take-Two's FY2027 guidance of $8.0-8.2 billion dollars assumes the current date holds.

Common misconceptions

"Trailer 3 already came out." No standalone third trailer has been released. The Netflix Extended Look is a separate piece of marketing, and calling it "Trailer 3" is a media framing choice.

"Preload means you can play early." Preload only stages the download. The game unlocks on November 19, 2026.

"The pre-order bonus ends at launch." It ends November 20, 2026 — the day after.

"The Game Awards date is confirmed." The show itself has a scheduled date; a GTA 6 appearance at it does not.

FAQ

What is the GTA 6 release date?

November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Announced November 7, 2025, confirmed on Take-Two earnings calls since.

When does GTA 6 preload start?

November 12, 2026, one week before launch, on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

When does the GTA 6 pre-order bonus expire?

November 20, 2026 — the day after launch. The Vintage Vice City Pack is the pre-order bonus, and digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+.

When will Trailer 3 come out?

Unknown. No third standalone trailer has been released. Rockstar's reported response to Trailer 3 questions on July 27, 2026 was "wait", and community expectation pointed at September-October 2026.

When will the GTA 6 PC version be announced?

The two credible windows are The Game Awards in December 2026 and the Q3 FY2027 earnings call in February 2027. Neither is confirmed, and Take-Two has not committed to either.

Is the September 17 shareholder meeting worth watching?

It can be, because investor questions sometimes produce statements that never appear on Newswire. It is not a games showcase and no GTA 6 reveal has been announced for it.

Will the release date change again?

It has changed three times before, so nothing is guaranteed. But the current date is backed by Take-Two's FY2027 guidance and a pre-order campaign already in progress, which makes a further slip expensive.
